Santa Rosa, CA – December 29, 2008–
The award winning Design/Build services of Leff Construction’s
custom residential construction and remodeling will now be available
to smaller kitchen & bath remodeling projects. The company announced
the creation of the new Kitchen & Bath Division in response
to numerous requests for Design/Build services typically offered
to larger construction projects.
The
Design/Build process emphasizes planning, communication and a team
approach to design and construction. After successfully using the
Design/Build approach with larger projects over the last ten years,
Leff Construction has developed the ability to apply this process
to projects of all sizes and complexity.
According
to David Leff, President of Leff Construction, “There is no
greater need for the Design/Build process than in the remodeling
of a kitchen or bathroom, and it is so rarely used. Space and ergonomics
is often at a premium in these rooms. Add to that any moving of
windows, doors or walls and installing cabinets, lighting, plumbing,
fixtures, flooring and appliances and you can have quite a design
challenge on your hands. Our clients say it helps to have an experienced
team available to help navigate through the maze of available options.”
Leff
Construction was founded in 1978 and, in 2008, was recognized nationally
by Remodeler Magazine as a recipient of the Big50 Award. The company’s
green/sustainable building practices and energy conservation have
become a signature for their large remodels and custom homes. David
Leff is a leading proponent of environmentally friendly remodeling
and has distinguished his company for promoting air-quality and
energy conservation in design and build services. He currently serves
on the Green Building Committee of the North Coast Builders Exchange.

Green
Building Professional Certificate Program Comes to the North Bay
A Green Building Professional Certificate Program providing comprehensive,
in-depth insight into the New Green Economy will begin on January 10 at
Autodesk in San Rafael.
The Program examines the entire bundle of ‘green’ issues and
strategies including: smart growth, transportation alternatives, clean
energy technologies, ecological restoration, carbon as a currency, green
materials, and much more.
Intended
for design professionals, builders, building owners, facility managers,
manufacturers, educators, realtors, salespeople, community organizers
and a wide range of others, the Program is hosted by the U.S. Green Building
Council Redwood Empire Chapter. The Program addresses core concepts and
strategies that apply to both small-scale residential as well as large
scale-commercial building.
Developed in accordance with the LEED® Green
Building Rating Systems, the 6-month Program takes place one Saturday
per month, beginning January 10th, and completes in June. The Program
is presented by Longview Education Associates principals Bruce Hammond,
LEED-AP and Pete Gang AIA, LEED-AP and distinguished guest faculty. Together
they created and led Sonoma State University ’s highly successful
green building certificate program, for the last five years one of the
leading green building education programs in the country.
“As
‘green’ increasingly becomes the operating standard within
mainstream business and government, the demand for professionals with
an integrated understanding of green building practices will only increase,”
states Program faculty Pete Gang, AIA. “Our Program provides the
understanding necessary to participate fully and profitably in the New
Green Economy.”
