Effective
January 1, 2006, the California legislature made sweeping changes
to the Home Improvement Contract Laws. Many changes affect what construction
company’s contracts may and may not say. Failure to comply with
these laws is cause for discipline against the company’s license
and may render the company’s contracts unenforceable, impacting
the company’s ability to be paid for its work.
